Social Media Group Meeting - Trials advertising

Ten members of the student advisory group attended a very productive quick-fire meeting to plan some content for posts and adverts to advertise our research trials - 'Reducing Worry' and 'Building Confidence'.

We also spoke about other ideas, including:

- Ideas for influencers / ambassadors: including advertising on instagram for support and with drama students

- Having an interview format for videos, more engaging

- Xpression FM (student radio)

Script for promo video

Jemima proposed a script for a promotional video:

"Feeling anxious or depressed at university?

Nurture-U is a research project hoping to improve student wellbeing services.

You can help us test a new app to help with worry and build confidence, or an online therapy for anxiety and depression.

You can get support, earn shopping vouchers, and help students in the future!

Follow us and click the link to find out more."

Student suggestions for improvement:

- say that the therapy is free

- say it will be tailored to individual need

- specify student stressors (e.g. moving away from home, studying)

- emphasise Nurture-U as a community, rather than just research

Also had the idea that there could be a slightly longer promotional video for lectures or websites, and then a very short advert one.

Students also put their name forward for starring in posts/videos going forward.

Actions

- Jemima to put everyone who is keen to contribute in touch with Noah, our social media intern.

- Jemima and Alanis to start reaching out to potential influencers

- Noah to create posts introducing student advisors

- Jemima to finalise the script with students, and then get group together who would be happy filming themselves

Feedback on meeting

6 out of the 10 students gave feedback on a quick microsoft form - the average score for the meetings was 8.83/10, and students reported that the communication was clear and Padlets were easy to use. The meeting was short notice and one student said that more time is preferable.
